South Haven, MI – Co-op Racing completed the sixth weekend of the seven weekend
NASA Midwest racing series at
Gingerman Raceway. With the series championship at stake, the team
put their best foot forward for Gingerman. Rules infractions, inverting of the grid, aggressive driving, and some racer’s luck
resulted in two second place finishes for Andy Berberich and the Eurosport 944. The two second place finishes turned the series
championship lead over to 944 Spec Series Director and 2008 National Champion Eric Kuhns.

Washington, IL – Shawn and Andy Berberich are pledging $1.00 for each $1.00 that Andy earns in contingency
winnings to Children’s Hospital of Illinois throughout the 2009 NASA Midwest season. They are asking for you to
“Share the Blessings” and join them by making a pledge that will fit within your monetary means. All monies stay
right in central Illinois for the direct care and needs of Children’s Hospital of Illinois pediatric patients and
their families.

Blackhawk Farms Was Unkind To Me
South Beloit, IL – Co-op Racing returned to Blackhawk Farms for the second time in the 2009 season. Traffic and the track were not kind to driver Andy Berberich and the Eurosport 944. The resulting two thirds and one second brings the 2008 944 Spec National Champion Eric Kuhns significantly closer to Berberich who is the current series points leader.
Mass Confusion Yields Unexpected Finish
Joliet, IL – NASA Midwest 944 Spec had an action packed weekend at Autobahn Country Club. The weekend resulted in getting family & friends out for NASA’s annual family day, raising money for children’s charities, and enjoying great racing with some fun twists thrown in. Andy Berberich and the Eurosport 944 finished first, second, and third for the three-race weekend. A spin in race two and a twist in race three resulted in a real shake up for 944 Spec. Just over half way through the season, Berberich and the Eurosport 944 is currently holding a 50-point lead in the 944 Spec series championship.
Back To Blackhawk After A Two Year Hiatus
South Beloit, IL – Co-op Racing returned to its former home track of Blackhawk Farms in Northern Illinois. It’s been over two years since the team has visited the track and this year Andy Berberich and the Eurosport 944 came away with one first and two second place finishes. The narrow track proved to be a challenge for Berberich, but the team was very pleased with the first and second place finishes only two weeks after the big crash at Watkins Glen.
Honeymoon at the Glen
Watkins Glen, NY – For the conclusion to Andy and Shawn Berberich’s honeymoon season, Co-op Racing headed out east to historic and widely know Watkins Glen. The purpose of the trip was to celebrate the Berberich’s marriage and to give both of them a golden opportunity and a honeymoon of a lifetime. With the Porsche Club of America, Shawn drove the Eurosport 944 for two days of drivers’ education and Andy raced in the PCA SP2(944Cup) class. Both were very successful in their driving goals as well as celebrating their nuptials.
Two More Wins and a Track Record at Putnam Park
Mount Meridian, IN – Co-op Racing participated in the second round of racing in the NASA Midwest racing series. This round was held at the very popular regional Putnam Park Road Course in Eastern Indiana. This was the first weekend of dry weather for NASA Midwest and the team. Driver Andy Berberich in the Eurosport 944 was consistent in his results of first place in each race. The weekend went well for the team, but not so well for others who ended up totaling their car due to an off track incident.
Three Race Sweep for Co-op Racing at Road America
Elkhart Lake, WI – Co-op Racing officially began its 2009 racing season in the hallowed hills of Road America. Southern Wisconsin at the end of April did not disappoint race fans and drivers with rain, fog, cold, and lightning. Not being a solely fair weather team, the first showing for the Eurosport 944 in its inaugural 944 Spec presentation was remarkable. The team was able to drive away with three first place finishes in three race starts.
Big Changes in 2009 for Co-op Racing
Peoria, IL – The 2008 racing season ended at Road America with rain and a transmission failure. Not the best way to end a season, but not the worst either. Since the end of 2008, the team has made several major changes. The first and most important change was the addition of life long team member Shawn Berberich when she married Co-op Racing driver Andy Berberich. The second notable change was that the Eurosport 944 went under a transition for its previous 944 Cup configuration into a 944 Spec configuration. The Eurosport 944 will be competing in NASA’s 944 Spec class for the 2009 race season. Co-op Racing also took the opportunity to race go karts to raise money for Junior Achievement.

Racing with Kauth & Mayeur for Junior Achievement
Peoria, IL – Co-op Racing reverted back to its karting roots when they competed in the 5th annual eServ ePrix. eServ, a product engineering services provider headquartered in Peoria, raised $32,000 for Junior Achievement through its eServ ePrix, Go-Kart Race. And for the second time in a row, driver Andy Berberich took the overall win above 216 drivers and this time set the lap record. Consistent with his 2006 win, Berberich drove for local team sponsor Kauth & Mayeur.
